ASBMR 2024

In late September, Veerle van Hulten and Annemariek Driessen participated in the prestigious annual conference of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) in Toronto, the world’s largest gathering focused on bone research.

Veerle was honored with a travel grant to attend the event, where she presented a poster and delivered a presentation on her research investigating the relationship between Type 2 diabetes, specific risk factors, and fractures.

Her studies highlight that individuals with particular risk factors are at an increased risk of fractures, underscoring that this elevated risk is not universal across all patients with Type 2 diabetes.
