ESMO Congress October 2025: Poster Presentation on OSIBOOST 2A Trial

At the ESMO (European Society For Medical Oncology) Congress in October 2025 in Berlin, Paul Kruithof presented a poster on the OSIBOOST 2A trial.
This study explores a potentially more cost effective treatment strategy for osimertinib, a drug used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR mutations.

Although osimertinib is effective, its high cost remains a significant challenge. The Osiboost 2A trial explores the addition of cobicistat, a pharmacokinetic enhancer that inhibits the metabolism of osimertinib, also known as PK-boosting. This leads to increased plasma concentrations of osimertinib, potentially allowing for lower drug intake. OSIBOOST 2A is a feasibility study investigating whether a personalized strategy combining 'boosting' and reduced drug intake, can improve the affordability of treatment with osimertinib.
